Braids on Braids on Braids. Montreal’s Raphaelle Standell-Preston, Austin Tufts and Taylor Smith have continued to toss breadcrumbs to the masses in advance of the release of their sophomore LP Flourish // Perish. This time around we have been gifted with “Freund,” a tasty treat that showcases a waterfall of multiple Raphaelles — her voice overlaps with itself to create a whirlpool of sound that departs from the synth-driven sounds we’ve heard off previous cuts of the album.
We are now only 13 days out from the release, with touring already in effect. The winds are beginning to pick up, the skies are turning a strange brownish-gray, and the animals are getting restless. Check out the latest cut below.
