With his sophomore album Some Say I So I Say Light, British rapper Ghostpoet has well and truly laid claim to his own section of the sonic landscape, a place where dread-filled, glitchy electronic production combines with half-mumbled, half-whispered vocals to tell tales of melancholy and self-doubt. Where “Meltdown” at least had a sung chorus to provide respite from the downcast vocals, “Cold Win,” the album’s opening track, is nothing but world-weary storytelling and a deliciously creepy beat.
