It’s always nice to see the growth of an artist whom you’ve followed for some time. Dom McLennon popped up on our radar with “Recess,” one of the highlights from our Questlove remix contest. Just a few months later on “MAAD WORLD,” he sounds hungrier, sharper, and more vibrant than before, exhibiting energy and precision only hinted at on past tracks. It’s short and to the point, no choruses, no high-minded concepts. Straight rapping. It is, hopefully, a promising sign of what’s to come and, at very least, a glimpse of a young rapper growing as he puts in more work and puts out more music. Give it a listen.
