Though it hasn’t become a sport quite on par with remixing Gotye or the xx per se, quite a few worthwhile remixes of British darling Lianne La Havas‘ songs have cropped up over the last few months. Add Laurel Halo’s reworking of La Havas’ “Forget” to the pile. Substituting skittering percussion and ethereal synths for the original’s driving guitar and drums, Halo creates a vivid atmosphere well before bringing La Havas’ vocals into the mix. The result is sexy, dark, and uptempo, a welcome take on an already well-worn track.
