Claire Boucher is Grimes. Grimes makes dark but almost always danceable synth-pop. Her new album Visions is now streaming on NPR. You need to get over there and listen to it ASAP. Simples.

My neighbors probably know Visions word for word and melody for melody as I’ve been bumpin’ that shit hard (or is it only rap albums that you bump?) for a week or two already, and it’s a record that’s definitely worth taking the time to get into. Grimes’ soaring falsetto, knack for a synth-line, and club indebted drum programming make this an LP that’s fun to listen to loud, but the intricacy and innovation in the arrangements, and some of the more personal lyrics take this album to the next level. Visions is out on the 21st on big in the game label 4AD, hit the link below to stream it in full.
