Finally! Praise the Lord (other deities available), Jack Peñate is back with new material after a more than two-year hiatus since the excellent Everything Is New. “No One Lied” is a testament to the power and poignancy that just a man and guitar can create, especially when that man has urgent, impassioned vocals and lyrics that tug at the heartstrings. The simple video was directed by Dani Castro and shot in one take at Jack’s home (which opposite a fire station if you’re wondering why there’s a siren at the beginning), and suits the personal nature of the song perfectly. I’m really loving this sound, and can’t wait to hear more new material and hopefully a third album from Jack Peñate this year.
