A Brazilian Tribute Album For The Strokes' 'Is This It'

1.

A little while ago, Stereogum compiled a tribute album for the critically acclaimed album by The Strokes, Is This It, which consisted of a bevy of respectable artists. The resulting project was only vaguely reminiscent of the original as the artists reinvented the songs in incredibly creative ways.

Is This It takes a new life again as the Brazilian music blog Rock ‘n’ Beats has created their own tribute album titled Is This Indie. Fourteen bands in total from seven Brazilian states “thought to represent the diversity of today’s independent music in Brazil” were chosen by the blog to cover the album. The project will be downloadable come Friday, but for now, one of the covers can be streamed.

UPDATE: Is This Indie can be streamed over at Rock ‘n’ Beats‘ Facebook page in an exchange for a “like.”
