Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams” is my jam. Hell, it’s everyone’s jam. Everyone knows it, everyone reworks it, everyone remixes it (to death?). But I bet that you’ve never heard it like this before. Jhameel takes the very backbone of the song and simplifies it, recreating the song with plucking what sounds like a violin and banging some drums. The simplicity of the song itself creates a sense of innocence and acts as a foil to Jhameel’s moody, lustful vocals. The end result is a grittier–but still pop–version of “Sweet Dreams.”
