Ryan Adams‘ lucky 13th album Ashes & Fire is out October 15th. Adams seems to be most comfortable and most capable when he returns to the basics, and that’s exactly what this album is–lots of rootsy, acoustically driven songs with a focus on songwriting and lyrics. These are the kind of songs that don’t jump out at you and demand attention, but give them a few spins and you’ll find a spot for them. Pre-order it on iTunes, or listen below.
