It’s just after 12am CST, so now feels like a good time to spread word of some new M83 on P&P. “Midnight City” has a busy, but digestible personality to it. The track begins with flair and builds momentum as it progresses towards a conclusion accented by what I like to call an “80’s saxophone sendoff”. The perfect counter to balance the soft vocal touches of Anthony Gonzalez. This is the first official studio release we’ve seen from the M83 project since 2008’s Saturday = Youth, and I can’t say I’m mad about it.
“Midnight City” will serve as the lead single for a forthcoming double disc release titled Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming. Expect this dream to become a reality on October 18th, 2011.
