It’s almost universally agreed that Nevermind is a classic album, and Nirvana an era-defining band who could connect with and affect people through their music. With this in mind, SPIN magazine have compiled a thirteen track covers album to commemorate Nevermind’s 20th anniversary, featuring a diverse range of artists, some of who stay faithful to the source material and others who really put their own take on some great Nrivana tracks. Personal favorites so far are Midnight Juggernauts take on “Come As You Are” and Charles Bradley’s soulful rendition of “Stay Away”.

A lot has been written about Nirvana both on P&P and everywhere else, so it will suffice to say, Nirvana fan or not, you should grab this free download from the SPIN Facebook page and check out the thoughts of the covering artists on the SPIN website.
