Here it is – Detroit pop artist Rai Knight‘s mixtape. Thumping beats, catchy melodies and a sharpness that sets Rai apart from the rest of the female pop crowd. While most artists tend to fall into a scene and stick with it, conforming to the boundaries and norms, Rai Knight’s sound is a product of her exposure to several very different scenes. She started off as an acoustic singer/songwriter when she dropped out of school and moved to Seattle. After many transitions, she’s now on a hip-hop label. From her humble Acoustic beginnings in Detroit, to Indie Rock in Seattle, Urban Glam in L.A., and Techno in Scotland, Rai returned home, some 8 years later with a very well rounded musical portfolio… but not round enough; Rai was signed to a Michigan based, Hip Hop label (Frontstreet Records) in 2010.
