Just got an early heads up about some new craziness. Crystal Castles x Outkast x Raekwon x Skratch Bastid Blend. The idea alone makes the skin around my skull quiver. Skratch Bastid put together this mix that just melted my ears off and stole a large portion of my sanity. This weekend has been awesomely exhausting and I was about to go to sleep. Now my next hour will be spent sitting in a dark corner, sipping a Blue Moon and playing this on repeat on some “What’s Happening?” type shit. Rawr.
If you’re not up on it, Skratch Bastid is currently working on the Scratch, Skratch, Scratch project, which is made up of DJ’s Skratch Bastid, Scratch, and Starting From Scratch who essentially recreate classic tracks and put their own spin (see what I did there?) on it with a collaborative live show they’ve been doing. Highly entertaining, especially if you love hip-hop as much I do (impossible). Check this video out to get a taste.
