In his first tweet of 2022, Lil Uzi Vert says he wants to bleach his skin, to the dismay of many of his fans.

The series of tweets began on Wednesday when Uzi tweeted, “Bleaching my skin need umbrella,” including an eye emoji.

After following that with two unrelated tweets about not knowing anyone on Earth and his grandmother calling him “Boop,” Uzi tweeted a video sharing a snippet of a new song with the lyrics “bleaching my skin need umbrella.” He’s also sporting a Roc-A-Fella Chain in the clip.

While Uzi was commenting about bleaching his skin, he momentarily changed his Twitter avatar to an image of Michael Jackson, likely alluding to disproven rumors that the King of Pop bleached his skin when he was alive. His current profile pic is now Vybz Kartel, a famous dancehall artist who notably bleached his skin in 2018 and is also serving a life sentence for murder. He will be eligible for a parole hearing in 2046.

Lil Uzi Vert later started responding to fans who were calling his bluff about bleaching.

Uzi shared one more teaser for a new track, set to a montage of random video clips:

Fans are still waiting for a formal announcement of Uzi’s next project, which has been reported to be called The Pink Tape.
