Isabella Lovestory's Debut Album Amor Hardcore

Isabella Lovestory, a Montreal-via-Honduras singer, has released her debut album Amor Hardcore, a genre-blending project mixing reggaeton with trippier instrumentals.

Across the album’s 11 tracks, Lovestory pivots from traditional reggaeton instrumentals like “Unica” to drug-induced romps like “Exibisionista.” Lovestory chose the latter track as the final single leading up to the album and released its accompanying video where the singer, covered in glitter dances around what seems like an abandoned lot at night.

Chicken, Lovestory’s frequent collaborator, produced the bulk of the album. Chucky73, Six Sex, and Ms Nina are all featured on the project.

Lovestory was born in Honduras but left the country along with her parents and younger brother for Montreal when her mom’s job prompted a relocation. Only four years prior to the album’s release, Lovestory studied fine arts at Concordia University before abandoning her studies to focus on her artistry full-time. Since then, she’s also dropped an EP titled Mariposa and a remix project.

In the months leading up to Amor Hardcore’s release, Lovestory opened for Chelsea Manning’s DJ set in Brooklyn and performed on a balcony at POP Montreal 2022. She also appeared on the latest Mura Masa album.
