Looking back on where they used to be, Burna Boy and Polo G find a balance between both of their usual flows to create a new sonic experience that illustrates not only their pasts, but also where they hope their success will take them in the future.
Burna Boy opens the song by reminiscing on how he used to be sleeping on the floors, paralleling that to being gifted exclusive bags from Virgil Abloh now. The artist then croons about all of the things he’s been able to accomplish, from selling out shows to winning a Grammy and celebrating with his family. Polo G mirrors these sentiments in his verse as well, reflecting on making it out of the gutter and refusing to go back. All the while, Polaroid-style photos flash around them.
“Want It All” is Burna Boy’s latest release following his last song, “Question.” The song features Don Jazzy and also came with a TG Omori -directed music video shot in Lagos. Along with the new music, the Afrobeats artist will also have Queen Naija, UMI, and Donavan’s Sound Club join him at his debut Hollywood Bowl concert on Oct. 8.
