Britney Spears, who has been on vacation, took to social media to thank her supporters after Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny suspended her father Jamie Spears from her 13-year conservatorship late last month.

In her first public statement since the ruling, which was announced last Wednesday, Britney said she was at a loss for words over the support she’s received from fans in her conservatorship fight.

“#FreeBritney movement … I have no words … because of you guys and your constant resilience in freeing me from my conservatorship,” Britney wrote in an Instagram video post that was soundtracked by Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo track “Fade” featuring Ty Dolla Sign and Post Malone. “my life is now in that direction !!!!! I cried last night for two hours cause my fans are the best and I know it … I feel your hearts and you feel mine … that much I know is true 💞 !!!!!.”

Spears also shared the post to Twitter.

Britney filed a petition requesting that her father Jamie be removed from the conservatorship and replaced by attorney Mathew Rosengart back in July.

“I would like to charge my father with conservatorship abuse,” Spears told the court in a hearing that occurred prior to the filling of the aforementioned request. “I want to press charges against my father today … I want an investigation into my dad.”

Then, in September, Britney’s dad Jamie filed a petition at Los Angeles Superior Court asking for his daughter’s years-long conservatorship to be terminated.

“The conservatorship has helped Ms. Spears get through a major life crisis, rehabilitate and advance her career, and put her finances and her affairs in order. But recently, things have changed,” the filing read. “Ms. Spears is now outspoken in her frustration with the level of control imposed by a conservatorship, and has pleaded with this Court to ‘let her have her life back.’”

Also in September, Britney Spears announced that she and boyfriend Sam Asghari got engaged.
