Recent collabs with ArrDee (“War”) and Pa Salieu (“Bad”) are still on regular rotation, but it’s been a while since we’ve had a solo cut from Manchester rapper Aitch—not since “GSD” in August. That all changes today, though, because he’s just dropped off a new single called “Baby”.
Produced by Fred Again.., the new track centres on a sample of Ashanti‘s “Rock Wit U (Aww Baby)”, who’s even credited as a featured artist. Aitch previewed the song on his socials a couple of weeks ago, reigniting the debate about the use of samples in UK rap and how much is too much.
Directed by Zain Alexander Shammas, the visuals catch Aitch and his girl overseas as he speaks on his new relationship (with Chicken Shop Date’s Amelia, if social media is to be believed). It may be a pretty mild March here in the UK, but it’s still a far cry from the sun-bleached coastlines of Malibu.
