NBA All-Star weekend is rapidly approaching, and today, the league announced that Ariana Grande has been selected as the performer for the game's halftime show this year. The actual All-Star game will take place on February 15 at Madison Square Garden and will air live on TNT at 8 p.m. EST. The league has yet to announce any of the performers for the rest of the weekend's festivities, which will alternate between MSG and Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Last year, the halftime show featured a collaboration performance from Pharrell, Janelle Monae, Gary Clark Jr., and Earth Wind and Fire, while Kendrick Lamar handled the performing duties for the All-Star Saturday night events.
Ariana's NBA All-Star debut will come just one week after she makes her Grammy performance debut on February 8. Ariana is nominated for two awards at the show, including "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance" for "Bang Bang" with Nicki Minaj and Jessie J. The NBA is due to announce the remaining musical acts, as well as guest appearances for the weekend, in the coming weeks.
