Billie Eilish, fresh off receiving multiple nominations for the 2020 Grammys, joined Jimmy Kimmel Thursday night to detail her appreciation for the Recording Academy's recognition.

As the "Everything I Wanted" artist explained, the supremely-early-in-the-morning announcement of nominations resulted in her not being awake to see it go down in real time.

"That went up at like 5:00 a.m. I'm not gonna wake up for that," she joked. "I was knocked out. No, I stayed, I was knocked out. My mom came and woke me up and I was like half-asleep like 'Cool.'"

Later, Eilish recalled watching the Grammys with her family when she was younger, which adds to the surreal feeling of bagging multiple nominations for her WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? work.

"I mean the Grammys is the Grammys so it's like, as cool as everything else is, it's the Grammys, you know what I mean?" she said. "I've watched that every single year of my entire life, like judging all the girls' ugly-ass dresses. Every year, my family and me, we would all sit in the living room and watch the Grammys. We never missed it. The fact that I'm the same little girl watching that in my living room and then I'm still in that same living room being nominated for six, like, what is that?"

Eilish also talked about the importance of remaining present and not taking things for granted, an inspiring conversation she had with Melanie C, her appreciation for the work of Jessie Reyez, and more. See the full interview up top.

The Kimmel appearance also resulted in a bit in which Eilish posed the central question found in her debut album title to a group of children, as seen below:
