Following on from the warm reception of her debut single, "How Could I"—released earlier this summer—teen singer Devon Jae drops new music today as she preps her debut EP. New song "Not Now", a slice of atmospheric pop-R&B, centres the soaring vocal of the Bay Area native over clashing drums and slinky synth work.

In an email to Complex, Devon Jae explained that the song is about "growing up and figuring myself out; I tended to be careless to the point of self-destruction. With this song, I wanted to talk about those reckless and self-destructive times in a nonchalant, super chill way." There's a consistent aura of maturity and poise within the ambition of Devon Jae's content. With no date or title given for the forthcoming EP as of yet, Jae also revealed that she's working on her live show and is "working on new records that all walks of life can relate to."

With "Not Now" as a firm example, we're hoping it's more of the same.
