Representing the West side of that London, rapper ASB dropped his Hard Times Don't Last EP in March — a nine-track collection of street rap anthems backed by a choice support cast of features and production from the UK and US. It's these connections, honed over the past few years, that come to the fore on "Peso". Flanked by Brooklyn emcees PayperView and TruStory, as the title suggests, "Peso" is a call to stay on the grind in pursuit of the finer things in life.
For the back story on the transatlantic link-up, ASB filled in the blanks: "It was a random studio session in Bedstuy; we found the beat and just went off the vibes. There was no preparation, and that's why the collaboration feels so organic."
