In early May, Sam Smith cancelled all future tour dates to undergo vocal chord surgery to repair damage done to his vocal chords. Last month, the British singer underwent suspension microlaryngoscopy surgery to stop bleeding in his throat from unstable blood vessels in his vocal cords. The procedure was done by Dr. Steven Zeitels (pictured above) who has performed vocal surgery on others including Steven Tyler, Lionel Richie and Adele. After weeks of silence and recovery, Sam announced his ability to speak again yesterday on Instagram.
