Late last year, Nottingham duo Young T & Bugsey teamed up with Unknown T for “Roberto C”, a typically feel-good viber to keep us warm through winter. Alongside the track, the pair also took to Instagram to announce their next mixtape, Truth Be Told, along with the tape’s artwork, which sets them at the centre of a hectic press conference.

Now, as the set’s January 21 release date approaches, they’ve got the next single for us: “Blessings”, featuring Jamaican star Chronixx. A bright and breezy skanker, the new team-up makes the most of their guest, bringing the dancehall influences to the fore with some fluttery brass, a nimble bass lick, and the occasional burst of organ keys.

Judging by the first two tasters, we’re in for quite a treat when Truth Be Told drops and the boys could very well surpass the success of their Plead The 5th project.

Elsewhere on the tracklist, we’re promised appearances from M Huncho, Blxst, Aitch, Jasmine May, and Nafe Smallz, with production coming from P2J, Quincy, EY, 4 Play, Nana Rouges, The Elements and Young T himself.

Speaking about the upcoming project, Young T & Bugsey said: “After the success of our debut project, Plead The 5th, with standout hits like ‘Strike A Pose’ and the worldwide smash ‘Don’t Rush’, we knew we had to take our time with our follow up mixtape. Truth Be Told continues the illustrious run of head-jolting, dancefloor-prompting Young T & Bugsey music, with an added flair this time around and refreshing sense of musical and personal growth! We’re excited for fans to go on this journey with us.”
