Shy One And Kwam Buddy Up For A Grimey Dissection Of London In 2018 On 'Spoons' EP

Had this come out earlier in the year, would it have silenced some of those naysayers so keen to call time on the grime scene?

Born from a chance meeting in Wetherspoons, the Spoons EP is the brand new collab from DJ and selector Shy One and radio host, tennis coach and emcee Kwam. Both Kwam's lyrics and Shy One's production are thoughtful and considered, applying their combined talent to subjects like police brutality, the worsening class divide, racial identity and more.

It's a densely packed release — both in terms of sounds and ideas — and one that the pair have clearly put a lot of time into. It's intelligent, adventurous and well-executed. However, we can't help but wonder, had this come out earlier in the year, would it have silenced some of those naysayers so keen to call time on the grime scene?
