Barely a week after the release of "Ozark" and Tez Kidd is back with "Money Riddim", switching it from pure rap to rave-focused bassline. Produced by Complex favourite Subzero, "Money Riddim" is spilling over with all the bubbly, tireless energy that makes up North's strain of 4x4 so widely celebrated. As a lynchpin member of legendary crew Scumfam, Tez Kidd is widely held as one of the brightest talents to emerge during the late 2000s bassline movement, but judging by this new thumper and his standout appearance on the Bassline Allstars remix of K Dot and Palizè's "As Per" back in February, his talent and hunger have only grown in the intervening years.
Speaking on the genre's future after COVID-19, Tez told Complex via email: "Bassline has a really good chance of taking off in a big way after lockdown as we've literally seen thousands of people lock into DJ sets on IG Live and Facebook and connecting with the music again. The true bassline heads know it never went anywhere, but ever since DJ Target reached out to me and some of the guys from the scene for his 1Xtra bassline special, things started to take off again."
