Born and raised in Ibiza, Manu Gonzalez has been immersed in house music since birth and his instinct for production can be heard in every track he's ever put his name to. Now he's taking things to the next level with the inception of his own label Question Reality.
To kick things off with his new endeavour, Gonzalez is releasing the label's maiden release, "Bring Back", a team-up with Italian producer Shaf Huse. Centered around a towering rhythm section that puts the bone-cracking drums and chest-rattling bass in the driving seat. As the pair christen Gonzalez's new label, take in the first track and then pre-order it before it officially drops tomorrow, September 6.
"Launching my new label, Question Reality, is a dream come true, it really is the beginning of a new era for me as an artist. My career is the only thing I wake up for in the morning. It's my life. From selling records in a record store, to playing records all over the world, to producing and releasing them on the labels of others. Now I'm excited to have my own record label, this is what I needed at this stage in my career. Through Question Reality I'm pushing quality music without following a specific genre, releasing music from myself and talent worldwide. This new project is special as I have an incredible team of industry pioneers that have come on board with me as founders. We are doing something new for Ibiza, as we are the only record label founded by an original Ibiza team.
"The track 'Bring Back' came from a hot June afternoon, jamming and flowing in the studio. I think it works perfectly as it has a mix between microhouse/tech-house and house; to be honest, you can't really pin-point the genre of the original. This mix represents the main focus of the label, to release quality music, not focusing on one specific genre."
