Having built up and maintained a steady buzz over the last couple of years—namely with tracks like "What You Do" and his cover of Pink's "Don't Let Me Get Me"—singer-songwriter James Gillespie is back with another slice of incisive penmanship on new single "Beyond Today".
Featuring the same kind of pained vocals and driving guitar playing of those past efforts, "Beyond Today" adds to that a particularly rousing hook and some nostalgia-drenched visuals. Shot in Paris by director Bella Howard, the monochrome video follows Gillespie as he wanders the French capital, passing the various landmarks and looking pretty downcast while he does so, which is probably the price of visiting such a romantic city alone.
