Although he released his first official track as Conrad Stone in 2020, this stage in the young, South Wales-born singer/songwriter’s career is built on a foundation he’s been laying for over a decade. Over the years (he first started making music when he was just 6), he has gone through several transformations, exploring grime, rap, trap as well as the pop-punk and emo that first influenced him.
Now, it seems, Mr. Stone’s achieved his final form. Inspired by the way artists like The Kid Laroi and Juice WRLD blended guitars with rap and R&B, Conrad has forged his own combo of R&B and emo, blending them together with just a touch of AutoTune. He’s also just inked a deal with BE83 Music/Orchard and his first single for the label, “Moonlight”, officially lands tomorrow (April 14).
Ahead of that, Conrad is pulling back the curtains on the “Moonlight” video, officially ringing in this new era of his career. Shot by Benji Beecham, there’s an almost haunting edge to the visuals, switching between blue-lit, soft-focus shots indoors to the snowcapped forests.
