Big things are afoot for Conducta this year. That actually happens to be true most years, but he himself would be the first to admit that this is most definitely a new era. His new EP, In Transit, just dropped and he has a packed tour schedule, and a replenished passion for music.

We’d already had a couple of tracks from the album—the Novelist-assisted motivational banger “Get Busy With It” and the dreamier “3FALL”—and now we’ve got visuals for third single “Gold”. This time round it’s a collaboration with Biji, a creative duo consisting of Robin Nazari, a Kurdish artist & actor and Maceo Frost, a director and music producer.

The result is a meeting of SWANA (South Western Asia/North Africa) culture and UK club sensibilities, and even features some bars from Conducta himself. Taking that combination even further, Conducta and Biji decided to create a video that best exemplified the mesh of Kurdish culture in the UK. That, as you can see at the top, turned out to be a Kurdish jewellers, a cramped shop where patrons and proprietors argue animatedly about the value and integrity of the gold.

Celebrating the often-overlooked Kurdish people and their culture, it fits well into the EP, much of which was created in airport lounges and train carriages across several different continents.

Press play on the video above and then be sure to add “Gold” to all your playlists.
