Dusk + Blackdown's faultless Keysound Recordings have just dropped their latest release: the Solitude EP by Brighton producer Atlas. As you might expect, the EP adheres in some ways to the label's "rollage" sound with sprawling bass lines and sparse arrangements. A contemporary of Etch, Atlas has been a member of the Keysound crew for a minute now, and the title track from this EP became a staple of Dusk + Blackdown sets pretty much as soon as they first heard it. It's a great track for sure, but it was the dub-heavy rumblings of "Calm" that piqued our interest. To that undulating bass, Atlas adds a brittle drum pattern and some icy metallic synths for a warped, expansive voyage through the annals of UK rave history.
