In just under two months—September 16, to be exact—Mura Masa will release his new album, demon time, via Polydor. He’s been teasing tracks from the album for a little while now, beginning with “2gether” back in November last year. Now, just a couple of months out from the big day, he’s back with visuals for “Blessing Me”, which features Pa Salieu and Skillibeng and was originally released in May.
Finding a meeting point between Mura Masa’s club-informed productions, Pa Salieu’s Afro-rap blend, and Skillibeng’s dancehall sound, “Blessing Me” is an impossibly infectious number so it’s no surprise it became a quick hit on TikTok soon after its release.
The track has since been given some visuals courtesy of in-demand director Emmanuel Cossu, whose credits include The Weeknd’s “Sacrifice SHM Remix” and Drake’s “Energy”. Filmed through a grainy, vintage lens, our three protagonists are at various points set against a crisp white backdrop and a more colourful, floral setting while they cut loose in their high-end fits.
In addition to previously-revealed collaborations with Lil Uzi Vert, PinkPantheress, Shygirl and Channel Tres, demon time is also set to feature Slowthai, Lil Yachty, Unknown T, Midas The Jagaban, Leyla, BAYLI, Tohji, Isabella Lovestory, and Erika de Casier.
