KOKO Announce 1st Birthday Celebration Line-Up f/ Skepta, Jammer, Benji B & More

After the 2020 fire, a revamp has the venue's future looking a lot more positive and it’s now so much more than the main theatre room that we all know and love.

Next month, running from April 28-30, London venue KOKO will celebrate its first anniversary with a massive weekend of celebrations—and they’ve just announced the line-ups, which include Skepta’s Más Tiempo, Bradley Zero’s Rhythm Section, and more.

The huge venue was completely revamped last year by CEO Olly Bengough after a massive fire ripped through the venue and threatened to put a permanent end to the club. Thankfully, the future’s looking a lot more positive and it’s now so much more than the main theatre room that we all know and love.

There’s now also the House of KOKO, a members-only club with multiple performance spaces, and then there’s Cafe KOKO, a bar/restaurant space open to the public for smaller, more intimate live shows.

Kicking off the trio of parties on Friday 28th April will be three separate parties taking place across KOKO’s three rooms: the Theatre, Cafe KOKO, and the House Of KOKO. Taking over the Theatre for the KOKO Electronic night will be Bradley Zero and his Rhythm Section crew, and they’ll be joined by Josey Rebelle and BATU for a multi-genre knees-up.

Also on that same Friday is the African New Wave night hosted by Guilty Beatz and DJ Simz. There aren’t too many details on that yet, but there will be some live acts announced very, very soon. Meanwhile, over in the House Of KOKO members club will be an enormous, multi-room party, spread over five floors, featuring a DJ set from Foals, a live performance from Stavroz, and the Crazy P Soundsystem.

Then, on Saturday 29th April, Dutch duo ANOTR are bringing their NO ART party to the Camden venue with some special guests. There aren’t too many details about this one either, but given their ultra high-energy combinations of disco, soul, funk, jazz and house music, it won’t be dull.

Finally, on Sunday night (April 30), Skepta will be hosting his Más Tiempo launch party with Jammer, Benji B and DJ Maximum joining him on deck. This follows on from Skepta’s debut as a house DJ at Circoloco last summer and the introduction to his Más Tiempo at new London venue The Beams alongside The Martinez Brothers. The latter saw Skeppy bring out Eliza Rose and Idris Elba for sets and we wouldn’t be surprised if he’s got something similar up his sleeve for this one.

Tickets are on sale now and you can grab them now from KOKO’s website
