At the end of this month, Homecoming—the London-via-Lagos festival and cultural hub—will be teaming up with Jameson Whiskey and streetwear giants Patta for a three-date, three-city cultural exchange built around the principle of championing artists and creatives from across Africa and taking the myriad cultures globally on their own terms.

Homecoming has been running since 2017, bringing a mixture of artists from all over Africa and the diaspora over to Lagos for live performances and panels, but this year they’re expanding the idea to make it more of an exchange—with Jameson, who have been there since the start of the movement. Under the #ALLCONNECT banner, the new transcontinental three-parter will be hitting three cities: London (August 29), Atlanta (September 3), and Lagos (September 11).

Heading to Atlanta will be Love Renaissance (LVRN), DJ Spinall, Korin, Teezee, DJ Obi, Sean Famoso, and Patta Soundsystem. For London, they’ve booked Teezee, DJ Obi, Patta Soundsystem, Ki Pharoah, Larizzle, Ab Dollars, hosts Julie Adenuga and Izzy Bossy. And on the bill for Lagos are Teezee, DJ Obi, Poco Lee, and Patta Soundsystem.

Homecoming founder Grace Ladoja told us: “All eyes are on Africa and it’s a very exciting time. Homecoming has been building a global community over the past five years and organically amplifying African creatives. With #ALLCONNECT, we are excited to connect people in real life, taking them out of Africa for the first time to the UK and USA and bringing people to Lagos for their first Homecoming experience, offering a unique opportunity of genuine connection. We’ve worked with Jameson since 2017, so we’re excited to bring this project to life. Patta is our family; they’ve supported us since the first Homecoming Lagos, so we’re excited to collaborate to make some exclusive products. Together, we’re continuing to widen the circle.”

Patta’s co-founder, Gee, says that “Homecoming has been a life-changing experience” for him. “In so many different ways,” he adds, “it’s hard to catch in a couple of sentences, so I’ll do it in a couple of words instead: inspiration, learning, Blackness, excellence and friendship.”

#ALLCONNECT will take place in London on August 29 (register for tickets here), Atlanta on September 3 (register for tickets here), and Lagos on September 11 (register for tickets here). Follow the journey on @Jamesonwhiskey.
