Fans hungry for a follow-up to Fekky’s 2020 4Life mixtape will be pleased to see he’s been back in the studio working on what looks like a new project called Red Wine. Ahead of that, he’s sharing his silky new rap joint, “Heavy Heavy”, with WSTRN’s Haile.

Fekky’s been busier than ever lately, working on his F Music label, the CC Foundation charity, and even finding time to run his own farm, but that doesn’t mean he’s satisfied. Haile opens the track with his hallmark velvety tones, setting a melodic scene for Fekky’s punchy delivery. It’s a lavish and luxurious one, but neither artist seems short on drive or hunger.

In contrast, Fekky laments the curse of not being recognised in your time: “They’re gonna wait ‘til I die then call me a legend,” he spits, “or bang me in jail and slang me a sentence.”

Pawel Zawadzki takes the director’s chair, with Fekky acting as creative director, and together they’ve peppered the visual with symbolism. Set largely in a dust-caked building site, complete with JCBs and all, it’s work above everything. The trappings—seen here in last supper-style settings complete with tuxes and expensive drinks—must come later.

Press play on the “Heavy Heavy” visuals above and be sure to add the song to your playlists.
