It’s been well over a year since J Hus previewed a collab with CB on Instagram Live, and while we continue to wait for word on a release date for that, CB has at least dropped off a solo joint of his own called “Rap Or Road”. He’ll be behind bars for a long time to come—unfortunately—but thanks to co-producers R14 and Menace, he’s still been able to drop some fresh heat for fans longing to hear a follow-up to 2019’s modern classic, Drillers Perspective.

Widely held up in the drill scene as one of the realest to ever pick up a mic, there are no punches pulled here. There’s a lot of the usual cruddy talk, but there’s also a sobering self-awareness and an honesty about his situation. “Bro told me ‘chill, leave these opps and just do music,’” he raps, before admitting: “I tried it out for a bit, but by next week I was booting.”

Although CB’s future inside is all but a certainty, there are some things to for him and his fans to look forward to, at least on the music front. First and foremost is the snippet of a possible future collab with Suspect that closes the track (incidentally, it’s Suspect’s brother who plays CB in the video).
