After debuting and then naming their fresh take on Led Zeppelin's classic "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" one of the best remixes of 2013 so far, Free n Losh has given us another treat: their new EP, The Best Is Yet To Come. Toronto's Free n Losh has been a DAD favorite since before we even lifted off the ground and with their new EP, the duo continues to build on their string of success. The EP not only includes the aforementioned Zeppelin take, but their previously released Mills Brothers tribute "Where Do They Go?" and three never-before-heard takes on Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder, The Beatles and, as the title suggests, Frank Sinatra. The result is no kitsch pastiche of your parents' favorite records but a celebration of classic cuts from an era gone by. While we already loved their Mills Brothers and Led Zeppelin fliparoonies, we're just head over heels for opening track in particular, "Things You Just Don't Understand," though their Beatles and Frank Sinatra numbers are certainly no slouches either. Their graceful sample cuts, precise arrangement, squeaky clean production, and dripping emotion make Free n Losh one of our acts to watch. Even though they've released little original material, their last EP Deadhead O.G. was a stunner, too, so it's no surprise how awesome this one is. Having followed the duo's progression for a while, it's been a pleasure to see them grow as artists and refine their taste and production. Support these guys buy listening to their EP, downloading the EP, and giving them a heart on HypeM.
