French electro duo Synapson recently dropped their single "Hide Away" in the UK, fusing a Daft Punk-esque, French funk beat with vocalist Holly's silky-smooth vocals. The track has got heads nodding all over Europe and amassed hundreds of thousands of views on its risqué video. Off the back of the track's breakaway success, Synapson have enlisted London production outfit Black Saint to create a punchy and percussive remix with the summer festival season in mind.
Here, Black Saint blend elements of their own musical heritage, drawn from the second generation West Indian diaspora they grew up in. Fusing these influences into the track by adding weight to the breezy original with a low-slung bassline and rowdy reverb, the edit bubbles along nicely into a more club-friendly version of the track.
