This week, Brent Faiyaz returned with his new album WASTELAND, featuring the electric single “Role Model.” Burna Boy also dropped his newest project, Love, Damini, featuring the Popcaan-assisted single “Toni-Ann Singh.” And Ken Carson is bringing his rebellious teen spirit to the forefront on “Go,” from his new album X. Brent Faiyaz is finally back. “Role Model” is an electric single with smooth vocals and flawless production where Faiyaz hypnotizes listeners while singing over an uptempo dance beat. “Flawless, lawless, baby, what you call this?/ If this shit don’t involve money, I’m off it/ I can be your role model, Jimi Hendrix/ Pop a pill with me before we end it,” he sings. “Role Model” is a fun track and an obvious standout from Brent’s new project, WASTELAND, out now. 

Burna Boy f/ Popcaan, “Toni-Ann Singh”

Burna Boy tapped Pocaan for his latest single “Toni-Ann Singh,” a sensual track that finds the duo paying respect to Jamaican singer and beauty queen Toni-Ann Singh. Singh won Miss World in 2019, and is rumored to be romantically involved with Popcaan. On the track, Popcaan sings on the chorus, “Gyal you pretty like Toni-Ann Singh/ You me angel without the two wings, yeah/ Whine your waist me darling/ Let me feel like a love me falling.” The track appears on Burna Boy’s new album, Love, Damini.

“Go” is a rebellious track from Atlanta’s rising star Ken Carson, where the 19-year-old chants in a dizzying fashion while bragging about his jewelry, women, and money. In a single verse, Ken Carson keeps his energy high as he raps, “I got all of these bitches on lit/ Shawty fell in love with my swag, now she rockin’ Balenci’ and Rick.” The track comes from Ken Carson’s sophomore album X, and follows the July 2021 release of Project X.

Doechii, “Bitch I’m Nice”

On “Bitch I’m Nice,” TDE’s Doechii reminds us how nice she is when it comes to her delivery, control, and swagger. Right out the gate, she comes on the track with fierce lines about her superior status, style and sex appeal. “I’ma pull up in the rocket, then take it and go and shoppin’/ And my drip so cold, they dip it and I’ma mop it,” she spits. “Bitch I’m Nice” is expected to be a single from Doechii’s debut project, and is more proof she’s next up.

Westside Gunn, “Danhausen”

“Danhausen” is a new track from Westside Gunn that finds the rapper spitting over Madlib and Lil Chick co-production. Over a mafioso beat anchored in horns, WSG raps about street activity and his reputation. “I’m lookin’ like Paq at the fight, rockin’ silk, nigga/ I’m nothin’ like these rap niggas,” he spits. The song appears on Westside Gunn’s newly-released album Peace “Fly” God.

Fivo Foreign & Kid LAROI, “Paris To Tokyo”

Fivio Foreign tapped Kid Laroi for “Paris to Tokyo,” a pop-leaning drill single that finds the duo ripping through a menacing SB-produced beat while rapping about luxurious European getaways and their love for their respective women. “That’s my bitch/ Paris, Tokyo, London, I took her on all of my trips/ I try to show you what’s real/You ain’t like them other hoes out here,” Kid LAROI raps. Fivio Foreign delivers another dizzying verse, passionately spitting, “She don’t want me to have it/ She’ll hold mine/ If we ever get pulled over with the chop’ She takin’ the charge and the whole nine.” The new track appears on the deluxe edition of Fivio’s B.I.B.L.E.

Murda Beatz f/ Quavo, Pharrell, J Balvin & Anitta, “No Mas”

“No Mas” is an English and Spanish track helmed by Murda Beatz. On the track, Quavo, Pharrell, J Balvin, and Anitta join forces to create a tropical, trap sound befitting Miami weather. Quavo delivers a hypnotic verse, spitting, “Go lil’ mama/ Way she feel got her dancin’ like Rihanna/ She see me dressed in Prada and then she Prada.” J Balvin delivers a fully Spanish verse, while Anitta shifts between Spanish and English, rapping, “See, I’m a savage, you cannot have it, I’m gonna hear you go/ It’s the best, dame má’, yeah, papi, I know, woh.” “No Mas” is Murda Beatz’s third single from his upcoming album.

Joey Badass, “Survivor’s Guilt”

Joey Badass is back with another track from his forthcoming album 2000. “Survivor’s Guilt” is a vulnerable track that finds Joey rapping over a mellow and pensive beat, as he reflects on his friendship with Capital Steez, who passed away from suicide in 2012. “Wishin’ I coulda stopped him, let alone just know how he feel/ Lyrically couldn’t top him, he was the nigga with the belt/ Yeah, and that’s real rap/ I couldn’t do this shit without him, and that’s just fact,” he raps. Elsewhere on the track, Joey looks back on the death of his cousin, Junior B, rapping, “And when I lost Jun’, that hurt me in the worst way/ He even died two days before his birthday/ Damn, that brings tears to my eyes.” 

SiR f/ Scribz Riley, “Life Is Good”

“Life Is Good” is a slow-burning, mid-tempo track that finds SiR celebrating the high life, singing, “Life is good, ayy, car fast as fuck/ Ain’t got pulled over once while I was actin’ up/ 120 on my way to Calabasas, I ain’t takin’ any favors,” over a warm beat, co-produced by JONAH and Scribz Riley. Riley is also featured on the third verse of the track, singing, “Had some problems yesterday but I feel good today/ I’m on a different wave.”

“Diapers” is an intoxicating track from Key Glock where he lays down hypnotizing verses about heavy drug use and getting money. “Dirty ass Sprite got me high as a kite.
