Vic Mensa Photoshopped Chance the Rapper out of a picture he took with Jay Z and Beyoncé, then shared it on Instagram.

Last Friday, Vic Mensa released his new EP, There’s Alot Going On, where he hung around in New York City for the weekend to promote the project and celebrate his 23rd birthday.

At some point during one of his nights in NYC, he linked up with Jay Z, Beyoncé, and Chance the Rapper. They took a group flick, where Vic shared on Twitter, “Birthday with friends.” Chance, too, shared a different photo where he wrote, “Coolest thing I did yesterday.”

Interestingly enough, Vic uploaded the same picture in a since-deleted Instagram post earlier today but blacked out Chance’s body and face. You can compare the two below.

Both their fans on Twitter were kind of shocked by this. Chance and Vic are friends that date all the way back to high school. They are also part of the Chicago hip-hop collective SaveMoney.

There’s no way of knowing what’s really going on until one of them speaks to the public about it. Hopefully, it’s just some strange joke and we can all laugh about it later.

UPDATED 6/13/16: G.O.O.D. Music's Malik Yusef is squashing any rumors of a beef between Vic Mesna and Chance the Rapper, despite the speculation after Vic blacked out Chance from a picture and seemingly took a shot at the Coloring Book rapper in a freestyle. "There is NO beef Btween @chancetherapper and @vicmensa, y'all," Yusef assured fans on Instgram with a post of both rappers posing together. "We super well, red and blue 11points of power,shout out the family."

Some fans responded to Yusef's post with relief, while others speculated that the picture of them together could also be photoshopped. "This looks photohopped that bottom left looks kinda iffy to me," one user commented. If you look closely, you can see that both Vic and Chance are wearing the same outfits from the Beyoncé and Jay picture, which means this was probably taken the same night. Yusef's words don't immediately mean there is nothing going on between Vic and Chance, but Yusef has a great relationship with both rappers, so it's likely he would know if there was a beef brewing.
