If Deep Cotton weren't on your radar before now, they certainly will be after watching their new music video "We're Far Enough From Heaven Now We Can Freak Out."
The new-age funk duo of Nate “Rocket” Wonder and Chuck Lightning have been steadily rising through the ranks, displaying their eclectic style of music with an innovative twist. It shouldn't come as a surprise then that they co-founded Wondaland Arts Society with Janelle Monáe and also produced on her albums The ArchAndroid and The Electric Lady.
The music video "We're Far Enough From Heaven Now We Can Freak Out" is directed by Alan Ferguson and finds the duo trapped on an island where a group of women called the SCUM Warriors have devised a plan to kill off the male race. Before it looks as though their fate has been predetermined, Rocket and Lightning surprise the women with an unexpected weapon that drastically changes their circumstances.
We'll let Megalyn Echikunwoke, leader of the SCUM Warriors, outline the specifics:
"We're Far Enough From Heaven Now We Can Freak Out" is included on Deep Cotton's new EP Runaway Radio, which can be downloaded on their official website. The group will be performing in Los Angeles at the Bootleg Theater on November 3. Ticket purchase and other details can be found here.
