Nas celebrated the release of his tenth album, Life is Good, in style. Last night at Bagatelle, a New York City restaurant tucked in the West Village, the Queens rapper held an intimate 50-person dinner that doubled as a kick off for the Moët Rosé Lounge Series.
As the night continued, the dinner morphed into an all-out party. Jay-Z, his wife Beyoncé, producer Swizz Beatz, and singers Miguel and Anthony Hamilton piled into the spot as Q-Tip DJ’ed.
Nas’ Life Is Good is out today, and it marks a comeback of sorts for the veteran MC. So far it’s garnered positive feedback from both critics and longtime fans. Not only are his raps crisp, but the production that accompanies them is just as strong.
Nas hears the clamoring, but he’s tuning out anybody yelling, “Nas is back!” According to him, he never left.
“I’m used to it,” he said to Complex just before stepping into Bagatelle. “People have been saying I’m back since my sophomore album. So I just ignore it."
Nas continued, saying that though he's at a better place in his life, he never fell off as an artist. "I think people should really know and pay attention to that fact that I’m passionate about music and I move how I move.” Noticing that isn't too difficult on Life Is Good.
