The numbers are in, and Lil Wayne has indeed sold 1,000,690 units of Tha Carter IV. After much speculation this week on how much he would sell, he joins Lady Gaga as one of the only two artists this year to reach platinum status in the first week of an album release. Congratulations to Cash Money/Young Money for another plaque.
UPDATE: According to Billboard, Lil Wayne sold 964,000 copies of the new album, just shy of a million. Look for him to hit the platinum mark next week.
