Sheck Wes is on track to become the next big hip-hop star.
Since the release of his 2017 breakout single “Mo Bamba,” the Harlem-born rapper has quickly risen through the ranks in both fashion and music. He’s modeled for brands like GUESS Jeans, John Elliott, and Helmut Lang, and has received co-signs from artists like Kanye West, Pusha-T, Travis Scott, and Lil Yachty.
On Thursday, the 20-year-old rapper reached another career milestone today with the delivery of his debut project Mudboy. The 14-track effort includes the previously released tracks “Live SheckWes Die SheckWes,” “Do That,” and “Chippi Chippi.” It’s also worth noting that the rapper handled the project solo, a detail he teased earlier this year on Beats 1 radio.
“I kind of want Mudboy to just be only Sheck Wes and Mudboy is going to talk about how I became a Mudboy,” he told Zane Lowe. “A Mudboy is just somebody who came from nothing, you know, who turned nothing into something. You know, when I was in Africa, in the rain, I walk around in, like, mud, you know, the sand would turn to mud and you are not getting out of that.”
You can stream the project now on Apple Music/iTunes and via Spotify below.
