Sheck Wes Dropping Debut Project 'Mudboy' This Week

Sheck Wes will release his debut project 'Mudboy' via Cactus Jack/G.O.O.D. Music/Interscope later this week. The project is believed to be largely featureless.

World peace may soon be a probable concept, as Sheck Wes has finally announced the release date for Mudboy.

Wes made the announcement by sharing a photo of "Mo Bamba" inspiration Mo Bamba rocking a Mudboy shirt. Below a slime font version of the project's title, the T-shirt reveals Oct. 5 as the day to which we all should be looking forward.

Presumably, the final tracklist will count the aforementioned smash "Mo Bamba" and the high-energy mosh vibes of "Live SheckWes Die SheckWes" among its many anthems. When dropping off his "Do That" track on Beats 1 back in March, Wes elaborated on what the Mudboy title means to him and suggested the project would be largely (if not entirely) feature-free.

"I kind of want Mudboy to just be only Sheck Wes and Mudboy is going to talk about how I became a Mudboy," he told Zane Lowe at the time. "A Mudboy is just somebody who came from nothing, you know, who turned nothing into something. You know, when I was in Africa, in the rain, I walk around in, like, mud, you know, the sand would turn to mud and you are not getting out of that."

Wes has since released the video for "Chippi Chippi," which sees the Cactus Jack-backed artist going full Tom Hanks circa Cast Away. Earlier this year, he dropped in on Travis Scott's ASTROWORLD track "No Bystanders" alongside Juice WRLD.
