J. Cole's Inaugural Dreamville Festival Rescheduled for April 2019

Dreamville announced the new dates via social media Friday. A full lineup will be revealed at a later date.

J. Cole's 2018 Dreamville Festival was one of the most anticipated music events of the summer. The inaugural event boasted a stacked lineup that included acts like Young Thug, SZA, Big Sean, Rich the Kid, J.I.D, and Teyana Taylor. Unfortunately for fans, the Sept. 15 festival was canceled due to severe weather conditions brought on by Hurricane Florence.

"Mannn. Due to this Hurricane heading to NC, we have to cancel Dreamville Festival," Cole wrote on Twitter. "We’re working to get another date, but right now safety is most important. U appreciate everybody that was headed to rock with us. 30,000 + were expected."

About one week after the cancelation was announced, Dreamville confirmed the event has been rescheduled for spring of next year.

"We battled with the idea of moving forward with the festival [...] or formally canceling the event. After receiving unwavering support from our fans and the community, we are excited to announce Dreamville Festival will now take place April 6th, 2019 [at Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh, North Carolina]," Ibrahim “IB” Hamad, Dreamville Records president and Cole's manager, said in a statement.

Tickets purchased for the original date will be accepted at the April event. A full performance lineup will be announced at a later time.

Proceeds from the Dreamville Festival will benefit hurricane victims in the Carolinas. The festival announcement arrived shortly after the Dreamville Foundation launched a hurricane relief initiative for Cole's hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
