A few months after initially teasing the next chapter of his career, Kid Cudi appears to be getting ready to drop new music.
Earlier this week, Cudi hopped on social media to preview a snippet of an unreleased track titled "Flex." The song failed to earn rave reviews from Cudi fans and the Cleveland-born artist decided to change course regarding the rollout of his next single.
On Saturday morning, Cudi took to Twitter to announce plans to "pivot" and drop a different song in place of "Flex."
"You guys are my fans, ur my family!!! I hear yall!! Im pivoting," Cudi wrote. "Different single June 2nd!!"
Back in February, Cudi shared details about the rollout for his upcoming project, revealing he plans on dropping his next full-length offering this fall, with the project preceded by "singles this summer." The LP will serve as a follow-up to last year's Entergalactic.
“Album this Fall. First singles this summer,” Cudi wrote on Twitter at the time. “The new chapter has begun…Ur not prepared man. We’ve reached a new level.”
In a subsequent tweet, Cudi announced that he intends to hit the road for a global run in 2024. “World tour next year. Count on it,” he tweeted.
