Duke Deuce is calling out Burna Boy after the Afrobeats artist seemingly referred to the Memphis rapper as a "dancing donut."
Burna Boy made the remarks during an interview on the latest episode of Complex's 360 With Speedy Morman. When asked about the backlash he faced earlier this year for saying Black Americans have no culture, the Nigerian singer said his peace, before implying that people on social media misinterpreted his comments.
From there, Burna Boy mentioned that many online trolls are "really stupid," before referring to one said critic as a "dancing donut."
"People is really stupid," he shared. "There's one guy that looks like a donut. Literally looks like a dancing donut."
Less than 24 hours after Burna Boy's appearance on 360 With Speedy Morman hit the internet, Duke Deuce hopped on Instagram to question if he was the donut the 32-year-old artist was actually referring to.
"@burnaboygram who you talkin bout?" Duke captioned a clip of himself in which he held a donut in front of a mirror in an attempt to compare his size to that of the fried dough.
Elsewhere in his discussion with Speedy, Burna Boy expressed his desire to "build a bridge" in an effort to bring people together.
โMy mission is to bring us together," he explained. "My mission is to build a bridge that canโt be broken, a bridge that shouldโve always been there. So for me, thatโs not really relevant. I donโt really look at none of that because I feel like when people say that they have their own agendas.โ
Burna Boy added, โThereโs nothing I said that Malcolm X didnโt say. Thereโs nothing I said that The Honorable Louis Farrakhan didnโt say. But, obviously, itโs Burna Boy saying it and heโs from Africaโฆ All thatโs beneath me. My mission and my movements [are] too divine for stupid shit like that.โ
