In an interview with Funny Marco for his Open Thoughts YouTube channel, Sexyy Red revealed the one thing fans say that make her feel "twisted" enough to respond.
"I hate when they say I look like Young Thug, because no the fuck we do not look alike," she said at the 10:15 mark of the video below, adding that she got the comparisons before she was famous, but now it's gotten "worse."
After the interview moment started to circulate online, she commented on a post from The Shade Room to suggest that she does see the resemblance, at least a little bit. "Yea after I seen the video we definitely twinnin," she wrote alongside a laughing emoji.
The St. Louis native has been getting a lot of attention this year, and not just because of her music. In various interviews and across a string of successful singles, her explicit and unfiltered comments have garnered her plenty of fans.
In a recent interview with Lil Yachty and MitchGoneMad on their podcast A Safe Place, for instance, she jokingly called herself "the raw dog queen," and recounted a story of how a man she was seeing found a condom in the trash and accused her of cheating. "My n***a called me the next day and was like, 'You had a condom in your trash can and stuff.' I'm like, 'That wasn't my condom.' I don't use condoms, baby," she told the hosts. "I'm the raw dog queen. So, that didn't come from me."
Sexyy Red also been spotted brushing elbows with rap royalty as of late, including Drake. "We got a song coming out," she revealed at Rolling Loud Miami in July. He sent me a beat and I had rapped for him or whatever. He was fucking with it so we gon’ see if he drop dat bitch.”
