Chicago rapper Queen Key released the up-front project Eat My Pussy last month, which saw her deliver an empowering message to the male-dominated Chicago rap scene. To further push the brilliance of the project, Key has delivered a video for one of the project's many highlights with her summer-ready, LVTRToinne-directed video for "Toes Out."
As to what inspired the video, Key explained, "It's finally warm in Chicago, I just wanted to have fun with my girls. I literally wanted my hoes out with their toes out!" The track also features fellow Chicago rapper King Louie, who she has formed a strong working partnership with. "I always love working with Louie," she said. "When I met him way back, I told him I was goin' to start rappin', so working together on this was like a full circle moment for me."
Queen Key is primed to become one of Chicago's next breakout stars. Her style is immediate and straight-to-the-point in a way so many other Chicago rappers are, but through her unique perspective she delivers a distinctive breath of fresh air to the scene.
